YOUTH ACTIVITY CENTER

resources

Following several months of design considerations and church committee reviews and approvals, construction work has begun on our new Youth Activity Center (the "YAC").

When completed, this will be a 4,000 sq ft structure that will feature:

  • 2,000 sq ft of open area for youth activities
  • a small kitchen
  • an 800 sq ft dining/meeting room
  • a 600 sq ft meeting / media room
  • two restrooms and two showers
  • a 2,100 sq. ft. multi-use sports court - completed!

This project is receiving oversight from a new Expansion committee, chaired by Bill Kyle. The project is being funded solely from YAC earmarked donations.   We currently have sufficient funds donated to undertake the foundation and steel wall construction.  That work is underway and we hope to have completed in the fourth quarter this year.  Interior finish work will progress as funds are available.

sportscourt

Thanks to a very generous gift, we have constructed a new 35' x 60' sports court (photo on left) which was completed on March 24th.

Basketball, paddle ball, four square, hopscotch, volleyball, and shuffle board are some of the games that can be played on the court.

The court will be lighted and fenced, adjacent to, and accessible, from, the existing children's playground.

volleyball

With the addition of the sand volleyball court last year, and the new YAC, we now have a wonderful area for outdoor recreation.

What a great addition this is to our church!

The Youth and the Men have also been working to clear up the brush in this area, to make the area safe, and for the possible future addition of a meditation trail.
