welcome

We welcome you to the Salado United Methodist Church. We are an old historic congregation established in the 1850’s. We are located on a beautifully wooded 15-acre site on the eastern edge of Salado in the Texas Hill Country. Our modern facilities are only 6 years old, and we have a beautiful historic Chapel that has been featured in Hill Country magazine and Texas Monthly.

We offer a very active youth and children’s program. We have a weekly seniors' group, weekly Bible studies, Wednesday night fellowship meals, many local and foreign mission opportunities, and small group discussions. Our community is warm and open. Our music is exciting and inspiring.

In addition to engaging a wide array of ministries locally, we support Methodist Churches in Kenya, Africa and in Sittee River, Belize, and several missionaries internationally.  We have a disaster response team and have been very involved in providing hurricane relief in Texas and Louisiana.

We would love to have you join us!

Registration for VBS is now open. Visit our Children's Ministry page for more information.

Wednesday Night Fellowship Meal

Our Wednesday Fellowship Meals begin at 5:15pm. The cost is $6 per person, with a max of $18 per family. Please let the church office know by noon Monday if you will be attending so we can order the right amount of food.

Church Directory

We are updating our printed church directory this year.  We have completed our photo shoots, but you still have an opportunity to include your family in the photo section by bringing in a portrait quality image (either a print copy or electronic image), along with a $10 processing fee.  These need to be brought into Tammye in the church office no later than Tuesday, May 15th.  Unfortunately, LifeTouch does not keep old images so we don't have the option to "re-use" photos from the last (2009) directory. This year, we will also have an online electronic version of the directory for those who have consented to have their information published. See our Directory page for more info.

Columbrarium Interest Survey

A Columbrarium is a structure which has niches for urns that contain cremated human remains.   A committee has been formed at SUMC to gather information and evaluate the interest in possibly constructing a Columbarium on the church grounds. Click here for more information - you can also submit this form if you might have interest in our church having such a structure.

Family Promise

Our church will be hosting the Family Promise families the week of June 10-17.  There will be an informational meeting for persons interested in volunteering to assist, at 6:00pm on Wednesday, May 16th, following the Fellowship Meal.  There will be a sign-up sheet in the atrium.  Contact Debbie Lufburrow or Rolly Correa for more information.

Texas Rangers Game.

Sign-up in the atrium now to join us on a bus trip to Arlington Ballpark to watch the Rangers play the Astros on Friday, June 15th, departing from the church at 4:00pm.  The cost per person is $65, which includes the bus ride, snacks and games on the bus, a ticket to the game (seats in the shade), and all-you-can food and berverage in the Ballpark.  We have space for 55 people and need at least 45 people to cover all the costs.   This is a fun trip and a great chance for fellowship.
